Here is a transcript of a 911 call made Dec. 27 by John Mahoney. Mahoney is charged with murder of his father Jerry Mahoney, pictured above. In his call John makes reference to the intruder who came in the house he shared with his fatherin Piscataway NJ.
911 Operator: 911, where's the emergency? John Mahoney: Hello, I need help, please. 911: Where are you? JM: A guy came in the house, he...he shot...he shot me and he shot my father. Please I need an ambulance, please. 911: Where are you? JM: 112 Gibson Street, please. 911: Where? JM: One, one, two Gibson Street. I'm bleeding bad, please. 911: Dixon Street in what town? JM: Piscataway, New Jersey. I'm (expletive) bleeding here. 911: When did you get shot? JM: Just now, in my arm. 911: Do you know, do you know who the gentleman was that was in there? JM: No. 911: Do you know the suspect that shot you? JM: He...he got me in the side of the arm. I think it only grazed me. I'm alright, but I'm bleeding bad. I don't want to bleed to death. 911: 112 Dixon? JM: Gibson Street, please. 911: Gibson. JM: My father got shot in the head. 911:Is he dead? JM: I don't know. I don't want to touch him. 911:What's the last name there? JM: Mahoney. M-a-h-o-n-e-y. I got my blood all over me. 911:: (inaudible) Stay on the phone with me John. 911:(to dispatch) 112 Gibson Street. I have a male on the phone claiming that there were gunshots at that house. 112 Gibson. JM: He went out through the back door. I tried to get him. I tried to get him. 911: Okay John, is he awake. Is he conscious? JM:No, he ain't moving. 911: He's not moving? JM: Not moving. 911: (to dispatch) Possibly a report of a DOA there. JM: I don't want to touch him. 911: Okay, don't touch him. What's the phone number over there? JM:(stammers) The phone I'm calling you. 911: Okay, what, (reads the phone number to see if it is correct)? 911:(to another person) Get someone from the back room going over there. He's saying Mahoney's down. Unconscious, possibly dead. Possibly dead. JM: I'm pacing around here. I'm bleeding. 911: Okay, John, John stay on the phone. Do you know the man who shot you? JM:No. I could see he had gloves on, he had a hat. 911: He had a hat. Was it a white male, black male? JM: White. 911: White male JM:Yeah. I could see his wrists through his gloves. 911:You could what? JM: I could see his wrists through his gloves. 911: He had gloves on? JM: Yeah, he had gloves, a hat, he had some kind of mask to hide his face, but I could still see his skin. 911: Okay, okay. Alright honey, stay on the phone with me. Um, how long ago did this happen? JM: Took 20 seconds before I called you. My entire arm is blood. 911: (to dispatch) The suspect left the residence, a white male wearing a hat of some type. Also had a mask on. This happened within the last five minutes. JM: I'm going crazy here. 911: Okay honey, just stay on the phone. JM:I'm not used to this kind of thing. I'm only 19. 911:: I know, I know. You know Paul right? Paul? Jerry's friend. JM: Um, I don't know. I'm not doing so well right now. 911:: Okay. Where is your dad right now? JM: He is in his chair. 911: He's in his chair? In the recliner in the living room? JM:Yeah. How did you know that? 911: Because I know your dad. I know your dad real well. JM: Oh, then, I'm sorry for you. They got him. 911:: Do you know if your dad knew the guy? JM: I don't know. He's a cop. Who knows how many people hated him. I tried to get the bastard. I tried. I missed him. 911: (talks to cars approaching scene) JM: I (expletive) missed him I could have gotten him. I could have gotten him. I missed him. 911: Okay honey. JM: I want him. 911: (dispatches ambulance) We possibly have a DOA. JM: He shot me. He shot me bad. 911: He shot you bad? Is there a bullet in you honey? JM: I don't know. I don't know. I'm not looking. I'm dripping. 911: (to another person in room) Yeah, well he's got a gun. JM:The gun's on the floor. 911: The gun's on the floor in the house? JM:Yeah, we had a struggle and I got grazed. And I tried to pick it up and shoot after him. 911: (to dispatch) The gun is in the house on the floor. I'm getting more from the son. He's saying he struggled with the shooter. 911: (to John) He's definitely out of the house, right? JM:He's gone, he's definitely gone. I saw him run. 911: Okay. JM: I shot at him. I missed. 911: You shot at him with the gun? JM: Yeah, I picked it up. I tried to kill him with it. 911:Okay. JM: You gotta understand I wanted to kill the (expletive). 911:I know. I know. I'm sure you're upset. JM:(inaudible) 911: Listen to me, John, John. Listen to me. He has left the house right? JM: He's gone. 911:Alright, go to the front door. Can you take the phone to the front door? JM:Yeah, I'll put it on speaker. Hello? 911: You there? JM: Yeah, I'm at the front door. 911: You see the officers? JM:Yeah. 911: Okay, wave to the officers. 911: It was just one guy right? (yelling in the background.) 911:John? John? JM:Yeah. 911: Are they in? Are the officers inside? JM:They're here. They're here. 911: Okay, you can hang up the phone honey. Alright, bye.
